Merton, a growing resort community near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The brief was to create a space that could accommodate a variety of businesses, ranging from dentistry to a beer garden, while adhering to a small budget and a small town design aesthetic.

Our design solution involved simple, farm-like building structures with modern and minimalistic interventions. The buildings were placed in a linear fashion, connected by a pedestrian walkway. We used consistent building materials such as corrugated metal and standing seam roofs, with skylights sprinkled throughout.

To create a dynamic environment, the structures evolved over their length with occasional outdoor rooms and sliding doors. The buildings were expressed in steel with wood purlins and decking, adding to the rustic charm of the area
